FOREST HillS RENOVATION

Urban Treehouse

Our clients asked us to create a new primary suite on the third floor that reflected their mid-century modern aesthetic. The goal was to create a relaxing, private space comprised of a sleeping area, bathroom, and closet. Using a color palette of green and wood tones we wanted to transport them to a tranquil forest, bringing to mind spruce and pine trees.

Natural light pours in from two skylights and washes the moss-green tile walls. Brushed brass plumbing fixtures accent the tile and add a touch of shimmer. The wall-hung vanity features sliding doors and coordinates with the other cabinetry in the space. A wall of carefully conceived built-in cabinetry houses linens, toiletries, and laundry baskets. Mid-century modern sconces and an irregularly shaped mirror complete the space.

In the bedroom, a feature wall composed of Heartwood Pine anchors the space with the low-profile bedframe, mid-century modern pendants, and complementary pine flooring. The closet is cleverly tucked away behind the pine wall, adjacent to the bathroom entrance.

Additionally, we created a laundry room in what was a small bedroom. A deep green hue coats the cabinetry, matching the treetops outside the window.
