Chris’s first love was figuring out how to make things work. He spent a decade as an engineer, when he wasn’t driving a van for his friends rock band. Architecture gave him broader palette. Now he figures out how to make places work, for the way people live, the materials of building, and the environment. Chris studied engineering at U Mass Amherst, and Architecture at the Boston Architectural Center. He and Carol opened the doors at Helios Design Group in 2004, after having worked together for several years at the Boston architecture firm of Hickox Williams Architects.
He’s interested in what really makes buildings green, beyond the sexy stuff. When he’s not in front of the computer, Chris and his kids can be found on the slopes in winter, and on their bikes the rest of the year.

Chris tried his hand at a number of different jobs before finding his way into architecture. He holds a Bachelors in Design Study from The Boston Architectural College. He started his career at Helios Design Group in 2009 before leaving to move to Denver where he worked in multi-family for many years. His love of houses and the personal interaction with clients brought him back to Helios. When he is not designing houses you can find him riding or fixing bikes and enjoying one of the many Colorado breweries.
Ariel has a degree in Interior Architecture from the Boston Architectural College. She started her career in fabric showrooms before transitioning to the world of residential design. Her dream house has an original 1950s pink bathroom and butterfly roof. Ariel lives in Denver, with her fiancé and their three pets. When she isn’t scouring the internet for project inspiration you can find her listening to a podcast or exploring pastry shops and cafes.
Henry received his Masters of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his Bachelors in English Lit from the University of Connecticut. Prior to pursuing his Architectural degree, he spent years bouncing around Boston as a sculptor and furniture designer. He's had a number of wood shops, metal shops and design studios throughout his professional career, and still maintains an active (and totally disorganized) woodshop in his basement. He has taught architecture and industrial design at Wentworth and The Boston Architectural College, and continues to teach as time allows. Henry is licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire, and he lives on Boston's North Shore with his wife, 2 kids (when they are home to do laundry or get a home cooked meal), and his 85 pound bloodhound, Natalie.
Erin has a Bachelor in Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural College. While she has experience in commercial and institutional design, her love of houses has brought her into the field of residential architecture. She is interested in sustainable design and biomimicry. In her spare time, Erin likes to cook for her family and pet every dog she sees.
Charlotte has a degree in Architectural Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She started her career in multi-family residential design, but her true passion is in single family residential/interior design. Her love for nature, cooking, ceramics, collaging, and music sparks her creative mindset.
Maegan received her degree in Interior Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her career began in Luxury Hospitality Design where she worked on a variety of hotel and restaurant projects. Her passion for the built environment originates from helping her dad fix up her childhood home; an uninsulated summer house from the 1920s. In her free time you can find Maegan exploring vintage markets, spending time with her family and friends, or attempting to keep her houseplants alive.
Searching for something between science and art, Ben found architecture and never looked back. He received an advanced diploma in Architectural Technology at St. Clair College of applied Arts and Technology and is currently working towards his Master’s Degree in Architecture at the Boston Architectural College. He started his career working under a Landscape Architect at his local Municipality building parks, trails, and working with community leaders. In his free time he likes to be on nature hiking trails and finding new cafes to study in.
Andrea has a degree in Political Science from UMASS Boston. Her passion for teaching, supporting individual growth and cohesive community have been steady themes of her work; from training inside sales teams, client program management and teaching yoga. Andrea loves a good adventure, especially if it includes nature, art and good company. She is happiest when hanging around her especially fabulous daughter and their very cute cat.
Trio grew up in Jamaica Plain where he learned to be the look out for delivery drivers. He loves lunch, belly rubs, and his dad Chris.
