Innovation Factory
In our second project for Night Shift Brewing, we designed a 9000 s.f., 400+ seat brewery/ taproom/ restaurant/ cafe - the Night Shift innovation factory. Our clients wanted a playful, colorful, and innovative space which represented their brand at every scale. We worked with the team to brainstorm ideas for entwining production of beer, food, and coffee with the various ways of enjoying the space, to emphasize the customer experience.
Production areas are part of the experience, with views into the brewery and kitchen - the 10 barrel brewery systems serves as an experimental production space. The taproom and restaurant are defined by dropped ceilings, materials & color in a large open space. The taproom has harder materials and bright colors, centered around the island bar, while darker colors and softer materials define the restaurant.
Among the innovations at Lovejoy Wharf are universal restrooms. Consistent with NSB’s values, they encompass private toilet rooms with a common sink area, and provide a private nursing lounge, signaling that everyone is welcome at Night Shift
